Joyful Aprons, Great for Holiday gifts, etc....

I've been brushing up on my sewing skills and am now extremely obsessed in creating cute, useful and stylish aprons and etc.  As of right now, I am taking orders.  If you are interested or know anyone who would like a handmade apron, let me know.  I truly enjoying creating these aprons.  These make great gifts for the holiday, birthdays and they are a great hit at babyshowers as "Mommy and Me" aprons.  My pricing is quite reasonable and is about half the price of what is out there right now for handmade aprons.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/ or if you would like to purchase an apron.  I will discount the price for orders of 3 or more.

Thank you for viewing this and I look forward to your support and orders.

Eyelash Applicator

Because I have monolids, my eyelid doesn't fold up, it folds under.  This makes it difficult to apply false eyelashes because when my eyelid folds under, I get glue all over my eyelid and lashes, or I can't get the false lashes to stick on one of the corners of my eyelid.
Anyway,I was searching for false eyelashes on ebay and came across this little device. It is super helpful and makes applications so much faster.  I love this tool because it is like an extension of my fingers and helps keeps the lashes put until the glue sets in.  If any of you would like to apply on your lashes faster and get it right the first time, this device is AWESOME!

I bought this off of ebay for only $1.68 and free shipping!
Well, I hope this helps!

Hello Kitty APRON

I was reading my friend's blog ( http://xongie.blogspot.com/) and read that she loves Hello Kitty.  And I guess it was meant to be because when I went fabric shopping the other day, they had this cute Hello Kitty ribbon on clearance.  And then all the great deals on fabric happened to match the ribbon perfectly.  So, yesterday I created a Hello Kitty Craft Apron w/ 6 pockets!  My friend @ http://xongie.blogspot.com/ is super creative and crafty in several things, so I figure this would be quite handy for her to use.  I hope you enjoy it XONGIE!

 Top row of pockets
Hello Kitty felt decal w/ an "X" for her name.
Example of all the stuff you can put in it.
I drew and cut the head, eyes, nose and bow of this Hello Kitty decal and stitched it on.
I also hand embroidered the "X" that stands for her first name.

If anyone is interested in handmade aprons for the holiday or as a gift, let me know.  I am now taking orders.  Email me at joy_vaj@yahoo.com for rates.  Thanks for looking!

LOL    And, all the ribbons and rolls of lace at Hobby Lobby are Now I just need a free weekend to create some stuff. ;)

FABRIC TIME

Well, I've been getting some request to make some aprons.  So, I'm keeping my fingers cross and hope that I will get to go shopping for some fabric today.  I'm so excited! So far the day has gone pretty good.

Stay tune to see what I get, it might be something you like. ;)

Mascara Adventure

If you know me, I have never been very much into make-up because I don't really have anything to accentuate.  I have ittybitty monolid asian eyes, round nose and fat lips.  So, yea the only thing I ever try to highlight would be my lips. haha  But recently, I've become more adventurous in trying various make-up products besides lipsticks, lipgloss, etc....  I wanted to work on my thin short lashes. haha  Wish I had money for Latisse but instead I decided to try some new mascara and see if that'll help.  So far I've tried two products:
Maybelline The FALSIES Volume Express

Loreal Telescopic Explosion
I first tried the Maybelline Falsie and that didn't work out to well on my short thin lashes.  It made them very clumpy.  It definitely did make it more full.  I guess you can say, it did look like I had falsies on. haha  And since my lids are not very wide or long, the mascara brush kept getting mascara on my nose or the edge of my face. It was quite messy. So that wasn't a match for me.  Maybe if I wanted a dramatic look, but not everyday.  So, I set out for a new mascara and saw the Loreal Telescopic Explosion.  This one is definitely different. It had a spherical shape brush.  And the brush is a lot shorter.  It was created to cover hard to reach lashes such as the lower lashes.  So, when I tried this one on, I liked it a lot!  It covered my lashes more individually and was less of a mess.  I love the spherical brush! It was able to get lashes at the corner of my eyes.  But still at times, I still got mascara on my eyelid due to monolids. haha  But, overall I love the Loreal Telescopic Explosion.  There is also a waterproof one too.

In addition to this mascara adventure, I also purchased on ebay a Eyelid Guard.  Its a device used to block your eyelids and lower cheeks from getting mascara on it.  It works great for me since I have monolids.  And it makes putting on mascara so much faster since I don't have to retouch w/ a q-tip.  It was really cheap. I think I got it for like 99cents!!  Awesome little tool.  I definitely reccommend this tool.

Well, that ends my mascara adventure for now.  Until my next makeup adventure.

Halloween 2010

I'm so happy I got to participate in Halloween this year.  The past few years, I've been working 2nd shift or I was in school, so I missed out on a few of the Halloween events in my kids' life.  Which I hate!  But this year it was all about dressing up the girls and getting some candy!  Of course, costume selections were difficulty for my pre-teener.  She's wearing adult sizes and unfortunately, most of those costumes are rather revealing and inappropriate.  It took us forever to decide what she will be dressed up as.  Finally, we decided on "Jarajuku Girl".  She just pulled clothes from her closet and I completed her outfit w/ a petticoat from Walmart for $10 and I made her a little funky top hat to wear. My little one, I bought her Rosetta Fairy outfit from the Disney Outlet Store for only $4.99 this summer w/ matching shoes for $1.99!  Great deal huh?
Here are their outfits:

Well, our county designated "trick or treating" on a Saturday, so the girls were able to participate in the Spider Web Spooktacular Event downtown where they had free crafts and candy and "a movie in the park".  Which we did not get to participate in because the moment the movie started the eerie music scared my little one, so we left to go trick or treating with their cousins.

On Sunday, our church had a wonderful Fall Festival with tons of games and activities. Everything was free including the food!

There were so many booths, but here's my cute Hubby in the Dunk Tank!
Here's my little one trying to dunk her daddy!

Sewing

Well, I've never had any training in sewing, but its something that mom is really good at and so I kind of just learned from watching her.  She was a quilter with some MADD skills!  I'm no where near as awesome as her, but I do enjoy sewing.  Though I'm still at the "straight stitch" stage, I hope one day, I'll be able to invest in building up my skills.  As of right now, these are some of the projects I have worked on this past few months.  No patterns, just made them from looking at pictures and viewing videos. haha  So please excuse the amateur sewing skills.
